NATIONAL AMERICAN CRAFT BEER WEEK

NATIONAL AMERICAN CRAFT BEER WEEK-MAY 16-22, 2023

Between May 16 and 22 every year, National American Craft Beer Week is celebrated to offer independent breweries and local beer makers an opportunity to make a mark on the global market. More than 500 independent breweries in the U.S. alone look to compete this week against their international competitors.

HISTORY OF NATIONAL AMERICAN CRAFT BEER WEEK

American Craft Beer Week was launched by the Brewers Association in 2006 to support independent brewers and craft brewers who make their delicious drinks. A few years ago, small-scale brewers were differentiated from large-scale brewers using the term ‘microbreweries,’ now called ‘craft breweries.’ There were two pioneers of the micro revolution: the Boston Beer Company, known for producing the beer Samuel Adams, and the Sierra Nevada. These two breweries adopted the hallmarks of craft brewing early, and regardless of their small production scale, they achieved success.

Craft breweries was a name crafted by beer drinkers who supported the success of these brewers and those who continue to abide by the highest-quality brewing principles. Although they are pushing the limits, Sam Adams and Sierra Nevada still sell under 6 million barrels annually.

CRAFT BEER VERSUS REGULAR BEER

  • Better Taste on Craft Beer
  • Craft beers have unique tastes and properties because of the effort that goes into their recipes.

  • Alcohol Content
  • Although most craft beers have more alcohol content than regular beers, some have lower content.

  •  Varying Tastes
  • Compared to most regular beers, craft beers have a unique taste ensuring a new experience with different kinds of craft beers

  • Lower Consumption
  • You may only need to consume half of the number of craft beers compared to regular beers because of the high alcohol content.

  • Accompanying Meals
  • You can enjoy craft beer like you would take an expensive red or white wine alongside quality three-course meals.
